The Allegheny 9 Race Series in South Park – Want to take on a new challenge this year? Try the Allegheny 9 Race Series! The Allegheny 9 is an innovative race series designed by the Allegheny County Parks Foundation (ACPF) to shine a spotlight on 9 Allegheny County Parks and to raise funds to support our ongoing improvement projects. This 10K trail and road race will take place in South Park!

Janney and Y North Park Triathlon – Looking for a challenge this summer? Take on the 2017 Janney and Y North Park Triathlon. This Sprint Triathlon will feature a 700-meter long course pool swim, 12-mile bike ride, and 5K run!

Yoga on the Lawn – Enjoy a slow-paced yoga flow class suitable for all levels. The practice will encourage students to connect their breath with movement and relieve tension in the body while flowing through postures that build strength and improve flexibility and balance. #LunchLoop – Trade in your normal lunchtime routine and join BikePGH, Riverlife, and Healthy Ride for #LunchLoop, a 30-minute bike ride starting and ending in Market Square. Explore Downtown’s beautiful bike lanes and river front trails! Avid cyclists and first-timers alike can participate without it being a serious workout. No bike? Healthy Ride bikes will be available!

Ragnar Trail Appalachians – Come on down to Big Bear Lake Camplands in West Virginia, (about two hours from Pittsburgh) and take the challenge of running wild on single-track trails of West Virginia with eight of your friends over two days. Rest up at base camp in the Ragnar Village with fellow runners before hitting the trails again!

Pittsburgh Bike Fest – If you like biking around the Burgh, you’ll absolutely love this! It’s Pittsburgh’s annual celebration of all things bicycling. This 10-day celebration gets underway with a kickoff celebration and dance party on August 12, then continues throughout the week with events created and submitted by the public.

Wednesday Wake-Up Paddle – A Wednesday Wake Up Paddle is a great way to start your day! This moderate paddle provides views of the sunrise over the city. The route and length varies weekly due to weather and river conditions. Previous paddling experience is required for this outing.
Sunset Yoga @ the Color Park (every Wednesday) – Practice yoga as the sun goes down every Wednesday at South Side’s newest Color Park. Conveniently located on the South Side Heritage bike trail and accessible by foot, bike, or car. The Color Park is powered by Studio AM + Sunset Yoga is presented by The Hideout. Class starts promptly at 7:30 p.m.

5th Annual Scrub Run – Enjoy a summer evening of family, friends and fun as Passavant Hospital Foundation hosts the 5th Annual Scrub Run/Walk around the pool loop. Participants have the option of running or walking one loop for the 4K and two loops for the 8K. Following the race, celebrate with fellow participants at the Harmar Pavilion with an awards ceremony, raffle prizes, and refreshments. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome. Bring your baby in a stroller or your dog!
Twilight Yoga at the Hideout – Relax into the weekend with Twilight Yoga Nidra at the Hideout. Paired with the setting sun, makes for an enjoyable 60 minutes of relaxation.

Yinzer 5K – Yinz like to run, n’at? Grab yer Terrible Towels and dress in your most comfortable Steel City attire! The event takes place across from Stage AE and Heinz Field. No matter what part of Pittsburgh you call home, come aht and join the Yinzer 5K!

SUP Sunset Paddle – Take in the sunset from the water! Enjoy a relaxing paddle around North Park Lake and head back just in time to see the sunset over the Boathouse. Previous SUP experience is required.

Run Around the Square – Take a run through the charming Regent Square neighborhood at this annual community 5K. Toe the starting line, wind your way through the streets of the square, and hit the trails in Frick Park before crossing the finish line.
4th Annual Brain Aneurysm Awareness 5K Run and Walk – Provide awareness, education, and support for brain aneurysm! Gather at the beautiful North Shore Riverfront Park to remember and honor friends and family members, meet other survivors, and share the stories of support for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation!
Yoga Bike + Brunch at the Color Park – Get a full workout in the morning followed by brunch! Start at the Color Park located along the South Side Bike Trail an hour-long yoga class. After class, LocalMotion instructors will lead everyone in a bike ride by to Studio AM for brunch!

Pedal PGH – Ever wondered about a marathon equivalent for cyclists? Look no further; PedalPGH offers a 25- or 62-mile ride all around the city for anyone up for a challenge. With a happy mix of hills, twists, turns and straight shots, this ride tests endurance like no other event.

Beginner Stand-Up Paddleboarding – What’s SUP? Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world. Begin with a short land-based instruction, and then take to the water! This great full-body workout is perfect for all ages and levels of ability. Minimal physical conditioning is necessary and participants should be comfortable in and on the water.
