Saturday, May 5 – Rise & Imbibe: Yoga
With summer comes outdoor yoga, and there is no better place to unroll your mat than the brand new Pittsburgh Food Truck Park. Join Millvale Yoga Collective for a restorative Hatha flow along the river the first Saturday of every month (warm months) at 10am. The food trucks rotate every day, so you’ll want to come every week to try them all!
Sunday, May 6 – UPMC Health Plan Half Marathon
Game on Pittsburgh! Be a RUNNER OF STEEL and join the thousands of runners who take on 13.1 miles or 26.2 miles through the city of Pittsburgh! And a new flatter, faster course takes you past PNC Park, Heinz Field, Highmark Stadium, and PPG Paints Arena. With thousands of runners and spectators supporting you the entire way, you are sure to feel like a champion when you cross the finish line!
Sunday, May 6 – Terrain Race Pittsburgh
Are you ready to run through the mud and take on some obstacles? If so, then bring your friends and family to conquer obstacles and play in the mud at this amazing obstacle race! We have a 5k and unlimited lap option with 20+ obstacles and mud. Kids as young as 7 can race the full 5k course too!
Sunday, May 6 – Bend, Brews, & Brunch at Spoonwood Brewing Company
To yoga? To brunch? Or to Beer? We are bringing you all three in one event so that you don’t have to decide! Join Annie Federoff of Pure Power Yoga for Bend, Brews, and Brunch! Your ticket will get you 75 minutes of vinyasa yoga, your choice of 3 brunch options, and a beer flight tasting of 3 beers. You can’t beat that! Sunday, May 6 – Waterfall Hike
Hike 6-7 miles beside some of the most spectacular waterfalls and whitewater rapids that Pennsylvania has to offer! We’ll cover trails that will range from easy to difficult, talking about the history of the area along the way.
Wednesday, May 9 – Fit with a Physician
Get healthy while being healthy! We’ll join a local medical professional for an easy-paced walk that gets our bodies moving and stimulates our minds. The medical professional will introduce his or her field of study and answer individual questions as we walk. At each stop along the trail, our expert will share tips for staying healthy.
Saturday, May 12 – Mud on the Mountain
Mud on the Mountain offers athletes a chance to get down and dirty atop the beautiful Laurel Highlands. The seven mile mud run course winds its way up, down and through some of the most challenging terrain in Pennsylvania.
Sunday, May 13 – 26th Annual Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure
Join runners, walkers, families, and survivors in this iconic 5k. The course starts off at Flagstaff Hill in Oakland going through Squirrel Hill and into the heart of Schenley Park for a race that never gets boring. You’ll definitely be joining a lot of passionate people when you lace up for this run.
Wednesday, May 16 – Wednesday Wake-Up Paddle
Wake up with a Wednesday Wake Up Paddle! This moderate paddle provides views of the city and sunrise while paddling at a steady pace. The route and length vary weekly due to weather and river conditions. Previous paddling experience is required. Tandem kayaks are not available for these outings.

Let Venture Outdoors Trip Leaders introduce you to the basics of preparing for biking. We’ll discuss the gear you’ll need, where to go in the region, and other information you need to have a successful ride.
Thursday, May 17 – Beginner Stand-Up Paddleboarding
What’s SUP? Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world. We’ll begin with a short land-based instruction, and then have you gliding on the water in no time! This great full-body workout is perfect for all ages and levels of ability. Minimal physical conditioning is necessary and participants should be comfortable in and on the water.
Friday, May 18 – Bike to Work Day
Whether you’re a regular bike commuter (kudos!) or are looking to give bike commuting a try, Bike to Work Day is for you! Stop by a BikePGH Commuter Cafe for breakfast snacks, coffee, and friendly faces to get your day moving. And if you want to make bike commuting a regular thing, consider joining BikePGH for all the bike-friendly goodies and resources.
Saturday, May 19 – Pure Barre at the Ballpark
Here’s your chance to lift, tone, and burn right on Federal Street at the base of the Clemente Bridge! Pregame the Pirates/Padres game with a pop-up barre class and then head into the game feeling damn good about how you started your day. Tickets are just 30 bucks and include a corner box ticket to the game.
Saturday, May 19 – NamastHay Goat Yoga
What is NamastHay Goat Yoga, you say??? Being one with the wild takes a new name with this yoga flow at Potential Farm. Jen’s Yoga Zen and Have U Herd Goatscaping will lead you through a practice beginning at 2pm while goats freely roam the field.
Sunday, May 20 – Pilates Day Pittsburgh
It’s Pilates Day, Pittsburgh! Head to Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in the Strip for a 60-minute prop-free mat class. All levels (including newbies) are welcome to join and then stick around to peruse the Pilates studio sponsors and food and beverage vendors. Tickets are $15 and all proceeds will be donated to Let’s Move Pittsburgh.

Runners and walkers create their own path through the city to discover its secret places and hidden gems. Racers compete to score the most points through a combination of speed, distance, and cleverness…as long as they make it back in time.
Friday, May 25 – Sunset SUP
Take in the sunset from the water! We’ll take a relaxing paddle around North Park Lake and head back just in time to see the sunset over the Boathouse. The minimum age is 13 for all SUP outings. Previous SUP experience is required for this outing.
Sunday, May 27 – OpenStreets Pittsburgh
What if you could close a downtown street and use it for some healthy fun? Well Pittsburgh did just that with Open Streets PGH! This year, Open Streets PGH runs from Market Square, over the Clemente Bridge, through the Northside, and ends in the West End. Walk, run, skate, bike, dance in the 3 mile wide course that’s sure to have something for everyone!
Sunday, May 27 – Doggie Day Trek
Bring your canine companion for a social hike through Roaring Run Natural Area in Forbes State Forest. We’ll start out by letting the dogs get to know each other, and then we’ll cover 5-7 miles of moderate hiking trails. Off-leash time is included in the outing.
Monday, May 28 – Summer Kickoff at The Yoga Factory
Celebrate Physical Fitness Month (and Memorial Day) with a day of free classes at Yoga Factory. Bring your friends to kick off summer with unlimited flows (and hopefully warmer weather). Introductory classes will be available to those new to the scene. Can’t go all day? No sweat, the event runs from 8am-5pm.
