North Park Lake’s calm waters are the perfect setting for SUP yoga (stand-up paddle board) practice or leisurely paddle. SUP yoga is suitable for all levels and is an experience that stays with you long after you return to land.
Monday, July 2 – Moonlight Mondays Yoga Series
Every Monday evening at 6:30PM, you will find one of the Inhale teachers leading a class a few blocks away and nine floors up at Hotel Monaco. Enjoy an outdoor yoga class outside on the rooftop and relax with the city lights and warm nights.
Tuesday, July 3 – Firecracker 5K Glow Run & Walk
Get ready for Independence Day with the Firecracker 5K Glow Run & Walk. Meet at Moon Park at 9:15pm to load up on glow sticks before enjoying a race full of music, photo booths, and tons of fun.
Wednesday, July 4 – Fourth of July Fireworks Paddle
Enjoy the 4th of July Fireworks from a front row seat. Starting at 7:30 PM we will take a leisurely paddle upstream and, as the sun sets, we will float back down toward the Point to take our place in the front row for the best fireworks display in Pittsburgh!
Thursday, July 5 – Yoga at Bay 41
Join One Point One Yoga for a summer series at the beautiful Bay 41. Each class will feature a different teacher and practice. Class begins at 6pm and is on a pay-what-you-want basis.
Thursday, July 5 – The American Heart Association presents: Healthy BP for All!
Do you or someone you love have high blood pressure? Learn how to check, change, and control high blood pressure and get once-a-month health lessons to gain skills related to blood pressure management which includes an online health mentor to answer questions and resources to monitor and track your blood pressure.
Friday, July 6 – Barre3 in the Park
Summer is here, so barre3 is moving class to Southpointe Town Center Park the first Friday of every month at 7pm. After a fun class of tucking and pulsing, the group will walk over to Southpointe Town Center for drinks and conversation.

Saturday, July 7 – Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma 5K Walk and Run
Join us at North Park boathouse for the 8th annual PCS 5k. Proceeds will benefit Sarcoma research done in Pittsburgh as well as nationally. Thank you all for your continued support in battling this disease. Help us find a cure for Sarcoma cancer!

Let’s Move Pittsburgh regularly hosts fitness classes with professional instructors. These classes are open to the public and geared toward families with children of all ages to encourage physical activity as a family unit. Tuesday, July 10 (and every Tuesday in July) – Yoga at the Winery
Every Tuesday in July, we’ll be welcoming Rosslyn from Wholehearter Yoga to the winery to lead an hour-long class. The beginner-friendly class is the perfect way to get a great workout in, while also calming the mind from everyday stresses. Weather permitting, we’ll be outside on our back patio lawn, with wine sampling and time to relax afterword.
Tuesday, July 10 – Aqua Fitness High-Intensity Class
A high intensity cross-training pool workout to increase health-related fitness components, including cardiovascular fitness, muscular fitness, and flexibility. Music from Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Steve Winwood and Tina Turner accompany the class!
Wednesday, July 11 – Nutritional Series: Heart Healthy Cooking
Don’s Appliances’ Chef Anthony is collaborating with Cardiologist Michael Campsey, MD to bring you tips on heart healthy eating! During our Heart Healthy Cooking segment, benefit from a lesson on “Seven Simple Habits that Lead to a Healthy Lifestyle” published by the American Heart Association. Cooking demonstrations led by Chef Anthony Marino and dinner will follow.
Thursday, July 12 – PiYo Live Pilates and Yoga Fitness

The seventh annual One WHIRL Yoga Fest returns to Point State Park for two days! Join us in Downtown Pittsburgh from sunrise to sunset for a picturesque day of yoga classes with local instructors, vendor demonstrations, workshops, and good vibes. Yogis of all levels (kids too!) are welcome!
Saturday, July 14 – Fluid Motion Boot Camp
This intermediate-level class blends yoga, natural movement, running and FiTMaT for a dynamic total-body workout. This is followed by a natural movement sequence combining running, sprinting and groundwork, such as balancing, carrying, crawling, jumping and tumbling. It finishes in the pool with an intense CoreFusion sequence.

Thursday, July 19 – Beginner Stand Up Paddleboarding
What’s SUP? Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world. We’ll begin with a short land-based instruction, and then have you gliding on the water in no time! This great full-body workout is perfect for all ages and levels of ability.
Friday, July 20 – The Liberty Mile
If you’re a speed demon, the Liberty Mile is right up your alley. Well, not an alley per se, but the main streets of downtown PGH! Every July, runners fly down Penn Ave., race around the convention center, and back to Liberty Ave. in both competitive and relaxed one-mile events.
Saturday, July 21 – Bike Fishing the Yough
The major hatches have come and gone but there are still trout to be caught and released from the banks of the mighty Youghiogheny. Summertime is terrestrial time: hoppers, crickets, ants, and beetles, and surprisingly, a number of consistent hatches of aquatic insects. We will bike along the 9-mile stretch of the Great Allegheny Passage trail between Ramcat Rapids and Ohiopyle and access the river from points that get very little fishing pressure. This outing will examine the whats and whens of late summer and fall hatches and we will target both trout and bass.
Saturday, July 21 – Allegheny River Trail Ride
Southwestern PA has many bike trails to explore. We will pedal a total of 30 miles out and back along the Allegheny River Trail and Samuel Justus Trail that connects Franklin to Emlenton. The flat, smooth, asphalt surface trail follows the Allegheny River through farmland and woods. Headlamps are required as we will pedal through two tunnels!
Saturday, July 21 – Public Art 5K Tour Downtown
Come explore the murals and other public art found in historic downtown Pittsburgh. Runners will get the chance to learn about the many pieces of public art in downtown Pittsburgh. We will run at a casual pace, to accommodate all abilities on this guided tour.
Sunday, July 22 – Bike and Lunch on the GAP
Explore the Great Allegheny Passage with us! We will pedal a total of 30 miles out and back along the GAP. After the ride, we’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant in Boston, PA.
Saturday, July 28 – Pittsburgh Margarita Madness 5K
Whether you like them salty or sweet, this 5K in Frick Park will have you screaming for more. Line up at 3pm to get your taste of margarita madness. Who knows, you might just go home with a new sombrero.
Saturday, July 28 – Bay 41 Fitness Series Powered by Arsenal Strength
This workout will have all the flair you are looking for with a sample of HIIT, cycling, and bootcamp at Bay 41. Class begins at 10am. And maybe hang out at the Hop Farm for some refreshments before heading home.

OpenStreetsPGH returns in 2018 with three free events sponsored by UPMC Health Plan, including one new extended route, and one brand-new route on a brand-new day! These events invite Pittsburghers of all ages and abilities to reimagine their streets as places for people, not just cars. They will offer something for everyone, from fitness workshops to kids’ activities, shopping, brunch, community arts, and special promotions presented by more than 100 local businesses and organizations. Three event hub stages around the routes will feature free fitness classes providing dance, strength training, and mind and body workshops.
Sunday, July 29 – Muddy Princess
This one is for the ladies. Grab your closest gals and head to SwitchbackMX in Butler for a 5k full of mud, obstacles, and challenges. The race won’t be timed and is open to princesses of all abilities, so grab your tiara and get in line for this 7am start.
Sunday, July 29 – North Park Yoga Hike
Yoga is the perfect way to wind down after an invigorating hike. Join us for a quick-paced 2-3-mile hike in North Park followed by an introduction to yoga and meditation sequence. Abby Ritter, E-RYT 200, RYT 500 from Village Center for Holistic Therapy will complement the hiking experience by leading us in 45-minute meditation based yoga class.
